Lewes CLT Chairman elected town councillor |

John Stockdale, Chairman of Lewes Community Land Trust, Secretary of the Pells Pool Community Association, former Chair of Lewes Flood Action and campaigner for National Park status for Lewes was elected to Lewes Town Council in a by-election for Lewes Bridge ward on Thursday July 22nd 2010. The by-election was caused by the sad death of popular Lib Dem Town Councillor Hilary Black who will be missed by many.
John said: "I am delighted to have been elected and I look forward to representing the Ward in the few months before the next full council election in May 2011."
The Results were as follows:
- Stephen English (Conservatives) 154 votes
- Matt Kent (Green) 329 votes
- Jonathan Spencer (Labour) 152 votes
- John Stockdale (Liberal Democrats) 447 votes
